< marvy > ! Utterly delightful tale of the shoot with Tori Amos. Oh, and thanks for the Avery dots pic, O.M.G. (What's the date, by the bye?) I absolutely cannot imagine what it would be like to have been in the same room with her back then -- madly in love with her from the beginning. Except, I'm guessing, I would've just died.

Seriously, miss you @Well,

< tom >.

Hey <tom>! Great to hear your voice. Thanks for the kudos.

And glad you liked the piece. Looking back at events and emotions from forty years ago is more intense than I'd imagined. Good thing I have the pictures. Kind of a shame I didn't keep a daily diary.

I wonder if you would have died, or risen to the occasion? She was so hot, but kind of terrifying too, and I realized, I'm not man enough to take that on. Deficit of mine, not anything she did.

I still have my <well> membership, will try to remember pico and stop by there one of these days. Thanks for keeping the candle lit in the window.

Chris, engaged is totally fine. Even as a computer professional, I've been using engaged (i.e., not pico) since 1997 on the Well:

Come on back, and at least put < books. > on your Conference list!

But, back to your substack. Quite the wealth of stories of yours here. Thanks.

Next stop CBGB.

Ah, my friend; that’s the gift of age: confidence, in yourself, experience with your art… And it’s the regret of age: “If I knew then what I know now!” Such is life. But you had the joy of discovery, and isn’t that what makes it all worth it!?

Your photos are wonderful.
