History of the World, Volume 1
What brings Jerry Garcia, Run/DMC, Fran Lebowitz, and LL Cool J to Yonkers?
Hello my beloved readers. Flaked last week, and looks like I’m on the way to flaking this week on the piquant and delightful memoir gig. Ironic, as partly because of these memoirs I was offered the opportunity to show my work in a group show. And I have been frantically preparing scans, prints, frames, hooks and all the shenanigans required to mount what turned into a pretty major retrospective. Eighteen works, mostly my most famous subjects, not gonna lie, and mostly shots I’ve already discussed here. All thanks to my agent, Beverly Karnell, and Yonkers Arts.
D’oh! Instead of just flaking, it occurred to me in a flash that y’all would probably like to see some of these pictures. So here, this week, and perhaps another couple, will be a graphically heavy download, sorry to those on tiny pipes. Most haven’t seen the light of day in several decades, some have never been seen anywhere ever, like these here on this page.
And for you locals, big opening party tomorrow night in Yonkers. Show’s up for a couple months, with another Wild Rumpus scheduled for December 12. Shlep on over…
Pretty much none of these pictures has been seen in decades, by anyone. Thank you for sharing the thrill of discovery as I root around through the attics of my life. Or basements, as the case may be. More to come. In the meantime, come on over and see our show in Yonkers, wonderful Yonkers.
Congratulations on the show! And thanks for sharing your photos with us!
Congratulations on the memoir!
